Anniversary Quilt

A year before my parents' 50th Anniversary, I participated in a scrappy quilt class, called 'Orphan Blocks Quilt'. I started collecting the fabrics, and noticed that most of them had some gold, so decided to make a quilt for this big occasion. Some of the blocks are from patterns that were given by the teacher, and some I made up myself. The quilt took almost a year to make. It was machine quilted by a friend on a long-arm.

Challenge Quilt

I made this quilt for a Challenge arranged by a West Australian quilt guild a few years ago. We were given an ugly purple fabric to be used in the quilt any way we wanted. I call this quilt "Mommy, look! a purple cow!"

Baby Quilt

I made this quilt for my friend who had a baby last year. It is a pattern I found in a magazine. I am afraid I don't remember the name of the designer, or the magazine.

Quilts for Alzheimer's

These are tiny quilts I made for auctions that took place on the amisimms.com website. The funds raised are donated to the Alzheimer's Research Foundation. http://www.alzquilts.org/paq.html

Morrocan Watercolor Heart

This is not your traditional watercolor quilt, because of the use of fabrics. We learned this method in class. I don't like the traditional watercolor quilts, so this is MY take on it.

Chocolate and Red

I made the bag and pillow for a challenge we had at our quilt guild to create items from clothes we purchase at a thrift shop. I used a lovely corduroy red jacket and a yummy chocolate brown man's shirt.

Starting to blog...

OK, this is so new to me. Blogging, I mean. I've seen some lovely blogs out there and decided to try it myself. Baby steps. I hope to update my blog often, with photos and links of stuff I am creating and things that I like.
